ARRIVING IN SHANGHAI

When to arrive

It is suggested that every students arrive on the days of registration indicated on the Admission Notice. Try not to be ahead or late of schedule.

Some problems may be caused by coming too early: the apartment has not arranged enough rooms, the DISA is still on holiday and not able to accept regsitration. The most possible thing is that because of early entrance, the validity time of your visa is not enough for your study. There will be unnecessary troubles for you to apply for extension of your stay.

The office time for DISA is 8:00-11:00, 13:30-17:00, public holidays and school holidays excluded.

You would better arrive at the university in the office time of DISA so that on your arrival you can register. However, if you fail to arrive on time because of the flight timetable or other reasons, there is no need to worry. In that case, if you have successfully reserved a room in the dormitory, you can check-in at the general reception (24 hours on duty) of International Students Apratment and register on the next work day of DISA.

Getting to SUS from the airport

The most convenient way to get to SUS from the airport is by taxi. The regular taxi meter-rate is 2.4 RMB/km. As the Pudong International Airport is located 45km northeast from the campus, it will cost you around 150 RMB to get to the university from the airport.

Inform the taxi driver to drive to theShanghai Univwersity of Sport and that the cab should enter the campus located along Qing Yuan Huan Road (in Chinese:上海体育学院国际文化交流学院,杨浦区清源环路588号). It takes approximately 1 hour to arrive at SUS from the airport, depending on the traffic.

You also have the option of first traveling to Wu Jiao Chang (五角场) business center via the airport shuttle bus (Line 4) and then take a taxi from Wu Jiao Chang to SUS. The airport shuttle fare is 20 RMB/person. You may purchase the tickets at the shuttle bus booth located just outside the terminal for international arrival. Keep in mind that you must get on the Line 4 shuttle bus that makes a stop at Wu Jiao Chang. If you need help or guidance, please ask the shuttle booth attendants for assistance.
